LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif departed for London on Sunday morning, his second visit in the past two months for medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
PM Sharif was accompanied on the flight by his wife Kulsoom Nawaz and his son Hussain Nawaz.
The prime minister is expected to stay in London until Thursday (May 26), when he will return to Pakistan following his medical check-up.
Sharif’s brother and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif met the premier at the airport prior to his departure. According to reports, the two leaders discussed matters relating to the country’s prevailing political situation as well as other important issues.
This is the second trip of the prime minister to London for a medical check-up this year. PM Sharif last visited London on April 13 and returned to Pakistan on April 19 after his week-long medical treatment.
